Join us for the LARGEST one-day nationwide food drive.

One in eight Americans face hunger every day and we want to remind everyone that they can help Stamp Out Hunger. Stamp Out Hunger is a nationwide effort and all foods donated stay local. In 1991, a trial program was launched in ten cities across the United States. The initiative was formed by a union wanting to give back to those in need, whether it be by donating funds to a charity, collaborating during times of disaster, or protecting victims of calamities and crime. It was highly successful and became known as Stamp Out Hunger or the Letter Carrier Food Drive. It was the postmen who mostly saw the obstacles that communities faced. Thus, on the second Saturday in May, the postal carriers both deliver mail and collect food donations.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED WITH STAMP OUT HUNGER

1. Donate what you can.

Even if you aren't in Danville you can still contribute to your community by choosing to donate food. There are many shelters and food banks to choose from. Google non-profits in your area and drop off some food.

2. Get your friends involved.

Whether you're planning on helping us in person or just donating food ask your friends to join you. This will allow you to collect more food and you can donate more than you initially planned. This will also spread awareness about the cause.

3. Tell people about this day.

Get everyone involved and let them in on what you are doing. Post about this day on social media. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram so you don't miss any of our #StampOutHunger posts.
